Default Info. Living and Flying in Morocco

Does anyone have experience living and flying in Casablanca, Morocco area? I have a job offer there and would like info from you guys instead of just the Morroccoians.

I believe they use US$ or Euro's?? Sounds like I get to pick, right now it's a no brainer..

I know English well and can get by with French.

They tell me it is very inexpensive to rent a place. $300.00 to $400.00 / month. Sounds like a very cheap place!

I understand a visa or work permit is needed to work there also.

Any things I need to look out for or be aware of ??

Thanks. Feel free to PM also.

Cheyenne,
my info is limited and dated but i was living down there in the mid-90s while flying for the UN. It was OK then, not sure I'd go back (but maybe for the right contract) but it was a good experience. Casa was very much a modern city. It had a Western flair to it but still carried on some Muslim traditions. Quite a few tourists...

That's about all i can say. It was interesting but now far in my past...

Good luck,
Lifter

SL,
Mid 90's was only 10 yrs. ago. Like you say, if the pay is great and I can enjoy, it would be a great experience.
There are not that many paved runways in the country. Approx. 37 and about the same unpaved. I would not be excited about flying a mid/low wing turbine into a dirt strip.
I'm trying to figure out the tax free income. Looks like if you work / live 365 days there, in one yr. then it is all US Tax free. Thank you.

Keep me posted if you think of anything else.
