Avionco

Has anybody had recent first hand experience working for the contract company Avionco? I'm reading some things about how they are not paying their pilots. Was seeing if anybody can confirm/deny this. Thanks...

The Dodd's, who run Avionco, have more dead bodies out there then Freddy and Jason put together. (All the episodes)

Run away . Don't walk ....run

There are pilots all over the world who have been burned by Avionco. I am one of them. They don't pay, they don't keep their word, and they will leave you stranded in a foreign country. Search "Avionco" here, on Flightinfo.com and PPRuNe.

Avionco is Useless

These crooks will rob you blind! They have no work right now, so anything they say about a job is a lie. Do yourself a favor and do a Google search on these folks before you fall prey to them.

They destroy careers, and are evil people if you challenge them for your lost wages.

If you have been robbed, do a search in Google for Avionco. Go to Avionco at Blogspot. There is a lawyer there that has had success in in recovering pilot's pay from Avionco.

I was robbed for one months pay!

Don't go there guys! No matter how desparate, don't do it.

I just received a email from this company. Does anyone know if anything has changed since 2009? Also how can they destroy a career?

Experience with Avionco

I have had some experience with Avionco. If anyone wants to discuss, feel free to PM me. I too have heard mixed things about this company. What I do know is that a couple of my friends are working in South America right now and they are being paid like clockwork. They are very happy with the way things are going.
I wouldnt quit my airline job to work for them, but if you were single, furloughed and willing to work in a 3rd world country war zone, this might be for you.
Contract work in itself is inherently more risky than working for a normal Part 121 carrier in the US. You may need to adjust your expectations accordingly. A lot of things could happen in contract work such as not getting paid on time to not getting paid at all. It many cases it really depends who Avionco is contracting with. From what Ive heard, Avionco is looking for 737 pilots and CRJ pilots right now to fill positions in Sudan and Afghanistan.

Sorry for the thread revival but just trying to see if anything has changed here in the last five years? They have new opportunities in SE Asia and just seeing what anybody knows about them these days. Thanks...

I have actually heard good thing about them, I'm applying for a Chinese job.

I have has a wonderful experience with Avionco Ltd Canada. It does not seem these old blogs are even relevant to my experience with them. They have done an excellent job negotiating Terms and Conditions with the jobs listed with China Eastern. I'm only sad I do not qualify.

My girlfriend works for them and says they pay like clockwork.

All of the above 3 users singing praises for the contract company....another common thing between these 3 users....all registered this month and have 1 post each....average joe should get a hint about this company by the way it is trying to paint a rosy picture

They didn't negotiate Jack with China Eastern or any other airline..., the improvements we are seeing in T&C'S on the international expat pilot's market is a direct result of the need to place warm bodies on A/C seats because of unprecedented growth, same thing with more DEC positions opening up and the lowering of minimums..., all aimed at attracting more candidates.

The airline is the client..., not you!
