This company is trying to tap into the Jalways guys that are on the streets with JCAB licenses to save some time and money in training and that is really a smart move. The question is how many guys with types on the 74 and time on the frame will jump at DEC on a E-170? My gut feeling is that no more than a hand full will, most of those guys are looking at KAL, Asiana, ANA etc. So I think there will be opportunities in this new company for new blood

Let me put it this way, it took me 8 months from first day of ground school to line certification and that was without failing any rides or additional training (there are two rides, one for the type and one for the ATPL). And get this, we where in the short course according to our instructors

Apparently there are only 7 examiners with the JCAB at the moment, for the entire country....the last 2 or 3 classes have had at least a month off because of the shortage of examiners.
