Brookfield Aviation. Legit??
 
Hi there,

I was wondering if any of you have used Brookfield Aviation as a broker company for any job?
I want to apply for a job through them but I would like to know if they are ok to work with. I'm trying to spare myself the horror stories I have heard in the past.
Are they trustworthy?

Any info it would be appreciated.

Having first hand information on this company, I can emphatically state that they are one screwed up outfit. Lots of job carnage. Any chance that you are the guy that I spoke with on the phone about this very issue, and that I referred you to another pilot?

I was "hired" for a first officer job with Brookfield, without an interview, phone call, any kind of sim assessment, etc. And I was "fired" as easily as I was hired 5 months later, without ever being paid a penny or having done any actual work. The whole company (Brookfield) was reportedly fired from their contract with middle eastern carrier Felix Airways.

They fired a captain within the past handful of months, then put out an advertisement looking for a captain within something like 24-48 hours to go to Yemen.

I don't even want to think what they did with all my personal information that I sent them. My advice... toy with 'em. Accept a job, and don't show up.;)

I know quite a few satisfied expats working at carriers which Brookfield provides crews for Chinese, and European Carriers with a Mid-East Regional Carrier. They were hired during the boom years of 2005 and 2006. They interviewed in the US. However today, as the interviews are on the airlines’ property, you are on your own nickel if invited for an assessment. If offered a contract, again, you will be on your own nickel for your work permit, medical, accommodations, certificates, food, and transportation. From what I understand the pay from Brookfield is accurate, and on time. There is an ample supply of unemployed 737 crews available in the EU, which is why pilots from our side of the pond are not sought after. Pretty much like any contracting agency, which is tantamount to a match maker, your communications concerning rostering, and basing will be with the airline you are assigned to.

Contracting agencies such as PARC, DIRECT PERSONNEL , RISHWORTH, etal… cater more to the expat contractors when it comes to expenses including but not limited to housing, per-diem, medical and life insurance, travel to and from home once or twice a year, which the exception of KAL. However the majority of contracts available in these days are in Asia and Africa these days.

However, read the contract before signing.

My experience with David Brookfield was not at all impressive. I would not recommend his service to anyone. I'm quite sure there are others that do not feel this way, however, my exposure to David was expensive, embarrassing, and very unprofessional.

Obviously, I can not recommend him to anyone looking for serious, professional representation.
