Default can a JAA holder fly an N registered a/c?

I flew a N registered a/c over the pond with another FAA rated pilot. (pt 91) His contract ended. Now the company might get a local JAA pilot to fly. assuming he is current and qualified, does any one know if this is OK? or does it have to be an FAA rated pilot to fly N registered. Thanks! (a/c is a lear 60)

I may be wrong, however it is my understading that one needs to be a holder of a valid FAA airman’s certificate for the category and class of aircraft to be flown along with a current FAA Medical.

You can contact any FSDO or the FAA directly in OKC for accurate information regarding all requirements.

It's only paper work that needs to be done. I had several of these while flight instructing in Florida. If I remeber correctly there will be some limitations involved in the conversion. Contact any FSDO to get the paper work started.

I think he's going the other way. Two FAA certified pilots took an N registered Lear to Europe. Now the owner wants to hire a local.
