Default Capt Peter Burkill rejoins BA

Capt Peter Burkhill, the pilot of the B777 that landed short of the runway at LHR in January 2008 following a loss of thrust on both engines, is to rejoin BA in November.

BA has offered to reinstate him on his old fleet and with his correct seniority.

There was no other choice for him since he had quite a hard time explaining why he left in the first place and I am very happy for this outcome, he and his crew deserves the recognition that because of politics and personality conflicts was never given to him. Welcome to the flight deck Cap. Burkill, you didn't deserve the treatment you received.

Now fly one year on the line and then tell them to go pound sand! That is what you should have done from the get go

Thumbs up

Excellent. Glad he's back. He didn't deserve the awful treatment BA and media gave him.

Really happy for this gent. He really was thrown under the bus, and then the wolves started circling what was left. The worst part of everything were the stories of other pilots being part of that wolf pack. Hope the stories were blown out of proportion.
