The APC fact sheet is always out of date. The pay scale they have up is at least 3 years old. Go to Welcome to Emirates Group Careers Centre - Work for Emirates for the current starting pay rates. Yearly raise is usually one step up the scale ( 3% ) plus a rise to the whole ladder for inflation, so it changes every year.
PPrune has some good info, but you have to weed through all the crap on there to figure it out. Where there is smoke there is generally fire. Some unfair things have happened to some good people. No doubt about it, but that happens at every company.

The above is excerpt from emirates site.
Sir, If I read it correctly, there is basic pay of 25,320 DHS which is almost $6,893 USD & there is flying pay per hour on the top of the Basic pay & in addition to that there is housing allowance & childern education allowance.
Am I reading this correctly......
For Fly Dubai, it is very clearly mentioned on their website, 38700 AED which is $10,536 USD for First Officers; which includes Flying pay & housing allowance & there is childern education allowance on top of the pay.
Pilots - work with us - flydubai
Is it same for Emirates as well.......
Can U pls give your understanding......

I think you are. Monthly basic pay + flying pay. You may get overtime and you may get a bonus, but not guaranteed.
Also add 12% on top of the basic that the company contributes to your provident fund ( only get all of it if you stay 7 years or longer ).
You only get a housing allowanace if you opt out of company accommodation. Education allowance for children age 4-19, maximum of 3 children.

You pay a monthly premium, about $75 for family of 3.
There are limits and exclusions to the coverage, but for routine stuff it's far cheaper than the USA.
This is one area that Emirates is heads and shoulders above in regards to expat flying jobs. Just look at the contracts in China and India. Maximum of 12 sick days a year, anything more and you start losing money. I've had friends at Emirates off sick for months, one for a year and they kept full basic pay the whole time.

One reason flyDubai pay seems higher is that they do not provide housing/accomodation to their pilots. Think I'm right about that. Emirates will provide you with housing or provide you with around 160,000dhs to find your own place. And the rent prices can range from 40,000 to whatever depending on what your needs and location might be.
I agree with what has been said about the Medical care. Like anywhere, you will get outstanding doctors in their fields and you will get the "mule skinner" now and again. But isn't that true everywhere? I have some med issues and have had zero complaints with treatments, including a stint in intensive care. Believe me, not bad at all given the circumstances.

I'll leave it to the EK veterans to discuss the specifics, or doing a search - there is a lot of great discussion about EK (written by current EK pilots, like 'Typhoonpilot' and 'the Turtle') on this forum worth the time to read if you're seriously considering the move. Heck, I'd just read their post history to start with.
maybe Typhoonpilot or Turtle could chime in[/QUOTE]
not surprisingly i agree with TP...
i give you props for thinking about your parents this way. my folks are getting up in age and both have had their share of medical issues as well. I wrestle with this issue. As much as i want to be with them in their last years you gotta ask yourself-will they want it? some people don't adapt well here for all kind of reasons...we as pilots since we're on the go don't spend 100% of our time here like our family..it makes a huge difference! My Dad hates going across town...he'd blow his fuse over here. Plus, and I've been to many clinics/hospitals here...I've never seen a geriatic ward.

Doctors can be hit and miss. There are some good ones and some not so good. Overall it's okay. Same with Dentists.

Do you pay anything on top of the monthly premium? What would the premium be with a family of 4 (pilot+3)?
Is a mammography included for example? Pre-existing conditions are probably not covered but what if kid has already braces, is ongoing treatment covered? What if kid hits his head or has a stomachache in the middle of the night (minor ailment) are those situations covered?
I assume the coverage is at EK's clinic; what is the waiting time one can expect at the clinic?
I know it's a lot of specifics 😔 and I DO appreciate your contributions.
Thank you in advance.
