A$$less chaps for all crewmembers. The company pays 50% of uniform costs.

Here's a link from one of their management pilots:

Spicejet B737NG Contract--Some Non-salary details [Archive] - PPRuNe Forums

Figure $100,000 pay. No benefits to speak of and management who wants to replace you with cheaper Indian labor the moment that they can.

If you are qualified for B737 DEC & are considering India as a destination, then I would recommend Jet Airways India.

It is a very stable company, a little conservative, have a slightly lengthy Hiring Process but takes good care of their Crews... Decent Pay & conditions of employment.

Jet Airways | Careers

Then click on the "Click here to read the Conditions of Employment"

Even though you are working only for a 3 year contract, you can save enough money in 3 years that you can't save in 10 yrs in US.....

I'm one of the posters on the Pprune thread. Neither I nor Nevrekar work at Spicejet now - the thread is 3 1/2 years old. Spicejet's management has changed and they were really pushing the contract limits. It wasn't a happy place in 2010, although I'm told things have improved somewhat. I like Jet Airways a lot better. You can apply directly, but I used an agency - my direct application got no response. Your salary and benefits will be the same regardless.

Spicejet isn't a bad place to work, especially compared to a US regional, but there are better places in India now.

actually, for those who mock or speak out of turn and are totally ignorant, shutup

last week's data ..pax traffic up 18% year over year india

for those in the know, 5 new int't cities next year,10 approved by DGCA, hong kong will be one of them as will dubai. bangkok, kuala
they put the Q400 into service(30 ordered) ( 7 since oct) and loads are full and freeing up 800/900 capacity.

just got a new 800 a few days ago.... (10 more on order)

6 ex pats in the training que now....flying 100 a month easy so take home is 12,500,, the deal is 9500/mo plus 1500 housing, plus 4 RT tickets plus overtime plus 10,000 annual bonus and 10/4 which is better than jet airways 8/2

i hear jet airways is good also, but foreign jobs are alot alike in many ways...you're still a foreigner in a foreign place

the facts are the facts.....another NG in january...

the training is top notch, the check airman good and line training is normal by usa standards and style

As I understand you fly for Spicejet.
How is the recruitment process?
What are they asking for a DEC?

+1, but it won't happen. :)

Yoke, the bad thing about Spice was that they wouldn't pay while you're off. Is that still true? Jet pays year round. The pay and bonus are comparable otherwise.

captjns 11-24-2011 05:00 AM

Jet Airways provides:

Monthly base pay of $9,500 (net of all taxes) regardless of block on or block off. Pay commences the day you arrive in India for training.

$115 per hour in excess of 80 hours. One can easily fly 120 hours in a 30 – 31 day month.

$6,000 annual bonus paid.

$500 allowance from Jet Airways gateway airport to your home airport.

On Lach (circa $2200) per month housing allowance, or housed in a 4 or 5 star hotel.

Confirmed R/T in Eco class to where they fly. But don’t despair and bring the wet suit as 99% of the time one sits in Premier Class.

No matter where which airline you fly for in India, you may be sitting idle for a while. There’s the Indian bureaucracy to be dealt with. This is not at the fault of Jet Airways, Spice, Indigo or any carrier of India… it’s the government. Remember India was under British rule until 1947. England introduced bureaucracy to India during its rule. Well India perfected the art and meaning to the term bureaucracy. But remember at Jet Airways, one is on full payroll. That said when the frustration level starts to rise because of the bureaucratic system, take your monthly pay, divide by the number of days in the month, and that’s what you are getting paid by the day for enjoying the gym, sitting at the pool or whatever tickles your fancy.

I've been here since 10/17. I've got all but one week of the ground school done, all of the simulator and observation rides done, and did the DGCA interview yesterday. I'll finish the ground school while awaiting the FATA documentation - which won't take long (probably ;)) since I've been here before. I should have the FATA and be done with the line checks before December 10th or so - about seven weeks total. Jet has treated me like royalty so far. I've made some posts on Pprune about SpiceJet (same username) but to be fair note that I was last there in March of 2010. Things do change.
