When you guys fly from Dubai into Russia, are you required to have a visa to enter the country?

No. We get our passport stamped. That's all.

Going into most countries on a crew gen-dec is fine, so Visas are not required.
The US does however require a D visa of all crew unless they are American or Canadian citizens(and perhaps Mexican?). India also required a visa for us to fly into the country. Just thinking (writing) aloud. . . I'd be interested to see if Russia requires a visa for Americans. Sorry to barge into the thread. |

So if you are an American with a us passport, do you need a visa to fly into Russia while working for Emirates?

Currently the only country that requires a crew Visa prior to arrival is the USA, obviously not for Americans though. When we started flying to China it was required, but that has changed, they just stamp the passport now. Other places that stamp a U.S. passport are Russia, Malta, Tunisia, and Germany ( unless you have an official Crew Member Certificate, separate from the company ID ). I'm sure there are a few others but most places just need the Gen Dec and perhaps a scan of the passport. TP |

Depends on you who are working for (and what country). I was doing some sub-contracting work for an Italian company, while holding a US passport, and we did not need visa to enter PRC as a crewmember. While subcontracting for other countries we did need a visa for PRC. |
