Etihad posts banned on PPRune

The owners of PPRune have banned all mention of Etihad on their board. Evidently the airline is very thin skinned and has taken legal action against the owners of the forum.

Here is a new forum covering EY issues.

Wow!

I thought is was kind of funny when they changed the censor to make Etihad, "teahid". This is a bit much though.

What a joke. I don't blame Etihad but Pprune for complying

Is there an individual currently with Etihad that can shed light on the issue(s) between them and PPRUNE?

To date, PPRUNE has been rather liberal on volatile topics.

Unless confidential or non disclosure type material was published, there shouldn't be a whole lot that PPrune has to worry about.

You guys are forgetting that pprune is based in the UK, where libel laws are much more in the favor of business/"important" people.

The website is owned by Internet Brands - it is an American company.
The site was originally set-up and run by an English pilot called Danny Fyne. He sold it a few years ago to Internet Brands for $1.5 million.

In the recent past my union had a fairly serious issue with some PPRuNe posts, and nothing could be done through the American legal system because the servers were in the UK.

At least that was what we were told.

I knew that Danny had sold it some time ago, but had no idea that it was for that much money. Pretty impressive.

No comment yet from PPrune, they really need to grow a pair.

Don't be so quick to make judgement. It may not be by PPRUNE's choice. Perhaps on advice of their lawyers.
