Just got medical back...

Thinking about the foreign contract pilot thing.

14,000 Hours total time with 4,600 as Captain on the DC9 and B757. I have been out of the air carrier cockpit for about seven years. Where should I start looking?

I've worked overseas for 3 different airlines on contracts from 3 months to 2 years. The one thing they all had in common was that they all wanted me to be very current.

You can start by contacting companies like Contactair and Parc Aviation.

One thing that might work against you besides the fact that you have been out of the game for a while, is the medical standards on most of the contract work, don't know why you lost it to begin with and it is great that you got your FAA medical back, but for the medical in the contract business will be NASA like.

I had two neck injury's that led to Spinal Fusion and three other surgeries. After 42 pounds of paperwork and several thousand dollars in medical testing the FAA granted me a special issuance authorization.

Don't need the job, but would like to pay off my mortgage a lot sooner. Can't return to my old airline, the work comp payout prohibits that.
