LAN Chile

Has anybody here ever interviewed or worked for LAN Chile? I'm interested in working there, even making a career out of it.

not only that, they have stopped hiring expats due to unions complaining the company not hiring enough locals.

With all do respect, LAN hasn't stop hiring foreign pilots. The agreement with the union is that over a % of foreign pilots the Company will pay a "bonus" to its pilots.

Try AeroPeru, They might not have the same policy.

They're taking over S. America. Avianca is getting left in the dust.

Can't speak the language but am curious about the mins (not for applying, just general knowledge). Are they hiring folks with 200 hours total flying time and a CPL with current instrument rating?

Yes, unless they changed it recently.

Yes they do, as well as experienced pilots, both of them will go DEFO, no DEC here... but that was a bit ago... expat ab-initio and experienced guys recruiting has stoped since they filled the allowed % of foreign pilots. Union has nothing to do with this...
Although you never know... i've heard of a group of spanish guys that left LAN for the sandpit making some room maybe... so you better send your CV anyway.
Keep in mind that spanish is a must AND measure your expectations, Psychological test are quite picky, i've heard histories of very experienced guys being kicked off at this stage.
