anyone have a problem working in/for a communist repressive country? I guess China is somewhat better than other corrupt Marxist /commie places. Something to consider when cashing their check. (devils advocate post) Do you work for VOR Holdings?

You have to be CURRENT on the aircraft or they won't even consider you; Even if you have 3k of which 1500 are PIC.

Unfortunately the Chinese will only take Captains with 500 hours PIC. This is a CAAC restriction not from the carrier. Upgrading Foreign FOs is very problematic in China both politically and technically. It rarely happens. A few carriers have Cruise Captains basically IROs who have upgraded but this only applies to long haul widebody operations. All in all this is a good high paying opportunity but choose your recruiter carefully and do your research. Best of Luck.

What do they consider current? Could someone rent simulator time or does it have to be a recurrent training event with a FAR 121 airline?

I would assume it would need to be a PC within the last 12 months to be considered current. Either 135/121

Also, since the CAAC requires 500PIC, but this job posting is constantly saying 300PIC, which one is it?

China is definitely a funny animal. Drop me any questions regarding this specific job (obviously Tianjin Airlines). You need to be current...trust me, for the CAAC check ride, you need to be almost perfect to pass. Very low pass rate. Can't really comment on pic time, but the more comfortable you are in the left seat the better. You will need one year and 700 hours pic in China before they let you transition to the 190.
