TWI Aviation

Does anyone have any information on this company. I see they are hiring crj ca's and was wondering how the experience is.

Definitely an awesome company to go through. It is better to go through TWIA than to go with IAC Global. TWIA provides a much better service, and takes care of small details that makes the process quite pleasant. They are looking for 4 CRJ CA's to start in May. The screening is in Montreal, and the next round scheduled I believe is in April.

Thread revival... Anyone have any current info on this company?

QOL, work schedule, etc?

Thanks!

Working Conditions are good at IBEX. Rosters are fairly easy (approx. 50 hours/ month). Crews are nice and the office staff is also. This contract has no currency protection at the moment so if the yen continues to weaken, you could be looking at a severe pay cut. This contract also is one of the few in Japan that pays gross so you get the honor of paying all Japanese tax. Your starting salary will warrant a 35% tax rate and for those who try and "game the system", good luck. Base salary, commuting allowance, housing, and medical are all taxable for foreign residents. If you are a non commuter which is all they offer now (I think) Your children's schooling is also 100% taxable (I think). TWI will disclose everything to the Japanese Revenue Service down to the wire amounts to each and every bank account you have. The tax man has been harassing the pilots at IBEX for over two years now and they don't play. The new T&C just released are even worse so buyer beware.

What he said

Hey Guys and Gals... Have been around the contract flying world since 1991... Always thru the crew leasing expected reasonable protection thru the offshore contracts, however got a huge shock the other day... On a contract here in Japan and the Local Tax office started poking around asking questions... Well low and behold they contacted TWI and they provided ALL the info on monies paid and to boot a copy of our contract... Three years of back taxes and penalties... The contract was signed thru their Dominican company and thus reasonable protection was expected but NOT... So anyone considering a contract with TWIA be aware they will give you up... Other agency here IAC has not... So anyone thinking about the CRJ gig here in Japan might want to consider IAC or Rishworth unless paying full taxes is okay...

Also I have learned more about the Japanese Tax laws in this deal... EVERYTHING is taxable except per diem... Salary, Housing Allowance, commuting allowance, Education Assistance for international school... ALL TAXABLE... When your income exceeds 13,000,000 JPY a year you are a "High Wage Earner" and the National Tax rate for amount above 1,010,000 a month is 52%... Also you have Prefecture and City taxes... Consumption Taxes are on the rise also and will soon reach 10%... So anyone thinking about coming to IBEX do the math so you will know how much will go into your pocket... JPY is on the decline and forecast to go lower... TWIA will not offer you the real numbers...
