Captain's Authority at Foreign airlines... EK, EY etc....
I was wondering if maybe TyphoonPilot could answer some questions I'm curious about....
Do captains have a lot of say in things about the flight? For example, if the captain wants another 5,000 lbs of fuel does he pretty much get it or have to "convince" dispatch? Basically is it somewhat similar to here in the states? Any other cavaets which are quite a bit different or is it mostly the same? K |
I've worked for two foreign airlines. It's pretty much the same as anywhere else. If I want 2 tons extra, that's it. I don't have to convince anyone.

K In general I would say that Captain's authority is better at many overseas carriers than it is in the States. Always best to use it judiciously though. TP |
