Anyone have the latest on Korean??? Yes, I have read the past posts on all sites but it's been a but quiet for a while. Seems like a decent roster/commuting deal. Thanks as always.

Over the years we had 4 pilots go to KAL just to come back (or try to come back) after the first 5 year contract was finished.

Korean air management hire expat pilots as a union busting tool. Th have FOs sitting right seat for 10+ years yet claim that they don't have anyone qualified to upgrade. I know it's a good proposition for some people, but try not t go if you can help it.

There is a little more to it than that. After their rash or crashes they were in serious danger or being banned from operating in many countries worldwide unless they improved their safety. To wit they instituted many changes, which among other things included increasing the expat pilot numbers.
Granted the presence of expat pilots acts as a disincentive for the Korean pilots to strike since the airline can still operate a significant percentage of flights, but that is certainly not the sole reason they are employed.
