Flying in the Philippines

Anyone know of operators in the Philippines that hire low time US commercial pilots. I would love to go live over there to build some time.

I meant low time as in 250 hours.

There is an operation out there in the Philippines claiming to have Aztecs for FO jobs (I cannot remember the name)...beware. They are looking to get paid exorbitant amounts and you might not even see the inside an Aztec.

SpringZ? I saw they had a 172 charter operation going. I saw some stuff about being charged but thought it may have been lost in translation. I tried contacting them through email and got a undeliverable message back. Also the phone number didnt work. In any case, I wont be shelling out any money to work, well maybe some travel expenses.

Just beware there was an American scam artist basing himself out of the Philippines for awhile. Not sure what happened to him, but he took a fair number of people for some money. Initials of SS. Was a Delta pilot then China Airlines then Korean I think. I met him once in about 96 or 97 when he was claiming he knew an outfit in Hong Kong that could get you 15% monthly returns with Forex. Fortunately I was taught when it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true.

He then had some ab initio pilot deal with $10,000 required up front and I think it was specifically for flying in the Philippines. Some kids bought off on it and lost their money. Normally I don't refer to PPrune but there is some valid info on there about what I am talking about. Here are some threads from another site:

Oh wow. Yeah I have all my ratings, so there is no way I would pay any one a cent to come make them money.

Welcome to Asia. The guys from the little island down south have set the bar very low but made it very costly here. Southern Asia is just run by pay to fly outfits.
