I don't understand what the big deal is? Posting the pics was clearly not a good idea but is it really against the rules to jerk off while in cruise? He looks lie a horny little leprechaun,... Perhaps he could argue "biological need" as a legitimate defense.

Unlikely that it was in flight, unless the FO was an "accomplice".

He was alone in the, ah, cockpit. Not focused on nav, radios or scan.

Some tabloid could have rented a sim for 1/2 HR, $250 and made this story to sell copies.

The fo may not be an accomplice, he could have been in the lav. Not all countries make two people be in the flight deck at all times.
