Falcon 900 First Officer in KSA
 

A friend is flying a Falcon 900 for a private family in Saudi Arabia that has an amazing opportunity for a low time pilot to break into the Int'l VIP jet market. It needs to be the right guy though, and they will type him for a commitment to stay a while. They are looking for:

- EASA or FAA license.
- Min 1000 TT, with at least one jet type rating.
- Some turbine EFIS experience.
- Graduate of a 141 or better flight training background.
- Willing to move overseas for at least two years.

I know the pay will be tax free and equivilant to regional captain pay. All housing, medical, and travel expenses will be provided. Upgrade opportunities and type ratings in other VIP aircraft available at the end of the commitment. Four weeks vacation per year, and extensive travel throughout Europe.

Oooo, I get the feeling you're not flying in the Gulfstream/Falcon, VIP world, where opportunities for a young 1,000 hour pilot are almost unheard of... These guys are at a western compound with a pool, bar, tennis courts, and a gym. It sounds like a country club, but my experiences have only been limited to Iraq, Afghanistan, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan... As well as Saudi, and this job is a great one at any level. I don't seem to have your worldly, Middle Eastern experience in big iron VIP flying, so I may be wrong. I'd rather have that kind of adventure than work at some dead end charter company stateside, on $50/day per diem, with no hope of ever flying more than mid level execs to play golf in a Hawker. Evidently they're all over Europe staying at Marriotts most of the time. You say run, but if you're sitting at 1,000 hours, and can't even apply for a regional FO position that only pays $34k to commute, and work 17 days a month in the grind, this job is amazing. A guy will have come out of this with $100k in the bank, 1,000 hours of Falcon time, and have seen some of the world. All of your jobs after that will be six figures. Yeah.. Run from that :)

I'm sure you've have vast experience as an expat living and flying overseas, including, in Saudi. I along with others would be interested to read about your time overseas. Excellent way to gain international experience flying for a VIP operation. Housing and bennies very good. It's not uncommon for passengers to give out envelopes containing handsome amounts of cash.

I'm not saying Saudi, let alone expat flying for that matter, is for everyone. However, if one is young, single, and meets the criteria, its an excellent opportunity.

There is no bar at the compound. You cannot have or find alcohol in Saudi.

If you are married life is a little better over there. If you are not forget about social life there
