They do seem to have adopted the "Fly 'till your FO turns you in" retirement policy. That's a bold move Cotton, let's see how this plays out.

Oh and they all peach the "if somebody is a safety issue, report it" until you do, then you're a dick.

Airline gig is great, specially if you live at base! I would highly suggest living at base if at all possible. The same job is 3 times better at base, rather than commuting.

Agreed... but there is no way in "H-E-Double hockey sticks" that I would live in NYC or anywhere close. Thankfully I will never have to worry about it, but no way living up there is worth it. The taxes and cost of living alone would drive me nuts.

Maybe that's why NY MD80 captain goes so junior at Delta. They have 12000 pilots or so? I'm suspicious of any Captain seat in which 6000 first officers say ".... naaah. Thanks anyway, I'm good."

Gotta think of the flying those airplanes do too. 717 and MD80 might as well be flying a Dash 8 on the east coast, multiple legs a day flying an ancient airplane, its basically regional flying. I would much rather be an FO on something bigger and newer from a QOL standpoint, that and being NY based would keep me from 4 bars.
