NJA 350 or Latitude
Considering a jump from the XL...
Trying to decide between the 350 and Latitude. Any NJA guys care to elaborate on the pro's/cons? Thanks |
If your rear end is a little big and you'd like to lose some of it, bid the 350....:D
|
Just curious if anyone in the 350 or Latitude can elaborate on:
Types of trips, Hawaii, the islands, Europe... Redeyes, small airports, min rest, OT to be made, good CP's... How do you like the airplane: nice flying, performance, comfort, etc... Basically any input would be valued. Thanks. |
I don't know anyone flying the CL350 at Netjets, but I do have several friends flying older CL300s in Part 91. They love the airplane - very capable with great performance and very roomy up front for longer flights to Hawaii or to Europe. It is well respected. I don't know anyone flying the CL300 with many negatives - but I am sure there are some.
Not sure about the CL350 at Netjets (hopefully someone will respond) - but I do like the look of those winglets!!!! |

Types of trips, Hawaii, the islands, Europe... The best way to see what the 350 is doing is follow a tail number on flight aware for a week. Redeyes, small airports, min rest, OT to be made, good CP's... How do you like the airplane: nice flying, performance, comfort, etc... I hear people like the bigger cabin for comfort and some don't like it. It is a lot of cabin for two to clean. Basically any input would be valued. Thanks. |
Thanks for the info everyone.
Helps a lot. |
I'm on the 350, but have zero insight on the Latitude. I was an FO for 12 years on the XL and it was time to move. I could have had the Falcon, the Latitude, or the 350. The Falcons are getting old, I'd had all of Cessna I could stand, so that left the 350.
I love the plane...it is a great performer (engine out procedure out of ASE is "fly runway heading") and the passengers love it. Long duty days just like the XL. Fewer legs, but longer legs. Road QOL not much better than the XL, but a little better. More bigger airports and my passport seems to be used more often. The automation is awesome. It has Mach hold, but not autothrottles, or auto-brakes. Generally lands well, but crosswind landings are different because it can't take much wing-down. For me the biggest negative is the bigger cabin to keep clean and stocked. A big positive are the creature comforts. |
Great info!!
Thanks. |
I'm a super senior SIC in the 350...2 years in it and ZERO Hawaii. In fact, West Coast based and by the end of Day 1 I am on the East Coast, go to the West mid tour and end up in MIA or TEB on next to last day like clockwork. 90% of the time. Now, I don't know much about the Latitude, but I will say I love that 350. Yes we are the hardest working fleet, but if you are going to work, IMO it is the best thing to be working in. Flies like a dream, coffee machine right behind my seat, stand up cabin, stand up lav, and cabin accessible cargo bay. A full mix of flying types so no matter what your bag is, there's something for you. Oh, and training was beyond easy.

I encourage you to reconsider the Falcon. I was blessed with 2 years on the Falcon and the airplane is a great to hand-fly. The trips are generally good. Having an F/A is a plus because they stock the airplane and handle many passenger issues. Most of the Captains are great to work with. Overall, very little downside on the Classic Falcons. Feel free to PM me for more info. Good luck with your choice.

Been talking with some 350 folks this past week...
Holy Cow!! As much as I'd love to fly the 350, I'm really leaning toward the Latitude now. ;) Thanks for everyone's input. hkdguy |

Aside from the Encore and Hawker, I think most fleets will go go go until the crew or the plane breaks.
|
Most of the 350 guys I spoke with are exhausted.
2 were looking to bid off first chance they get. All agreed- great plane!! Just getting worked way too hard... |
I have to admit that I am a fan of that G5000 cockpit of the Latitude:

If you're senior to me, the 350 sucks....and it works you to death!
If you're junior to me...you'll enjoy it. :D |

That Latitude is a pretty airplane. I taxied behind a Netjets Latitude the other day and got a great look at it.
Here's a nice video - the cabin in the video is bigger than I thought! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eU88o6QTEM |
