Yeah my guess is that If we are hiring (emphasis on if, I haven't heard of any classes lately) it's mostly to cover attrition. The overall size of the company has shrunk during the merger, I'm not sure where it will level off. That press release about "Flexjet goes on hiring spree" was very strange, as that's not an accurate statement. I'm not sure why they saw fit to type that up and send it out.

We started the merger with just over 700. By the time we got to seniority list integration we had about 670. Today we have 560. So I don’t think we are growing at all.

Take it from a guy that's been there from the beginning.
Go somewhere else. It's depressing.

From the recent interview it looks like Flexjet has enough applicants and only those with an internal recommendation are looked at.

No need to waist your time applying according to the CEO.

A Chat with Flexjet?s Chairman and Chief Executive ? Robb Report

It has been reported that the aviation industry is suffering from a pilot shortage. How is that impacting Flexjet?

KR: There is a pilot shortage if you’re a commuter airline and you’re trying to find somebody who can sit in the right seat of your aircraft and build time. We’re not experiencing that at all. In fact, we’re seeing the opposite. When we expanded and we knew we were getting more planes, we had an opening for 65 pilots. To make sure that we were getting the kind of pilots that we wanted, we asked our existing 700 pilots to recommend someone. [A prospective applicant] couldn’t apply on our website without a recommendation from one of our existing pilots. In two weeks, 1,000 people got onto that website for 65 positions, and we didn’t even open it to the public. It was referral only.

Something's is off tho. Between the people leaving, the new airplane deliveries, and the busy season approaching we don't seem to be hiring enough people. Certainly not the "hiring spree" that was advertised.

I read that too! I’m not sure why they went to the job fairs. It seems a little mean to go to job fairs when they never had any intention of hiring except through internal recommendations.

Again. This is fake news!!!!!!!!!!!
They will say whatever is needed at the time!! It started with Flex on day one with KR call and him stating that nothing would change!!!!!!! Do not listen to all of the minions, he will say something then do something completely opposite.

I was being facetious. They can’t fill the open positions fast enough to keep up. Instructors keep leaving faster than they can fill those positions too!

It sounds like they overstated the number of pilots on the Options side. 406 on the Flex side and about 127 on the Options side. So I’m thinking outnumbers are even less than was advertised.
