Sim: Takeoff, level off, couple altitude, heading and speed changes, enter a hold and fly an ILS to a landing. That is all done without autopilot or flight director, so turn that stuff off and practice. You will then be repositioned and given a V1 cut.
From what I'm hearing they offer the job to everyone who passes the sim and isn't a complete ___hole.
Watch this site on May 30. If the Union is decertified, don't bother to show up. They will keep preferential bidding, but your choices will only be 7 or 8 day rotations with a minimum of 4 days off. You will make more money and work far fewer days at Netjets. A quick search of the other Flex threads will show you a video of the chairman saying the planes have to be available 16 hours a day. So expect to be pushed every one of those 8 days including 100% rolling rest, 2am wake up calls for reroutes, and "legally planned" 20 minute turns. Maintenance? It's just a small leak, you can "monitor it for the next couple days until we can get you to a facility, but we have trips we need covered".
Basically, all the bs that Flops had which caused them to unionize in the first place will be back in spades in about six months to a year, so if there isn't a Union, just don't bother!

Not to mention the much increased flexibility you have with schedules in 121. Being able to drop, swap and trade trips either back to the company, with different trips or with other pilots is so much better. And your a pilot. Nothing more. Left turn into the cockpit and that’s my world. No more where’s my cheese tray I ordered. No more sweating my a$$ off trying to load morons 80lb bags into the baggage compartment. No more cleaning up after inconsiderate passengers who just destroy the cabin on a 2 hour trip.

There’s a lot of jobs that can still be done well at age 65. Flying even. There are not a lot of 65 year olds who need to try and keep up with Kenn Ricci’s Roman galley methods.
14/10 and do it again is rough on the young guys. And let’s be honest, they’re going to push 14 hours out to 16 every way they can. That’s what happens when you run off 1/5 of your pilot group in two years and are unable to find enough rubes to replace them.

The retirees can learn the ways of frac flying but the cognitive and physical requirements will be tough.

True for others than Flexjet. I was told By the VP OF Flexjet himself to my face that 121 guys are not what they want. Most likely because they are pro-union, they are not accustomed to 14 and 10 do it again, min rest everyday and will write up airplanes when there is a discrepancy no matter where they are. All of these reasons don’t fit the Ricci “Family CULTure”.
