Only if you can get another pilot to pick all your trips up. Unfortunately, there's no provision to simply drop trips, even with adequate reserves.

Thanks. So you can put all your trips up to be picked up but you can't just drop.

You got it, and I hope that'll change in a future contract. Would be nice to be able to drop something in the pool if there are plenty of guys available.

Doing the give-away to other pilots isn't too bad when you have actual trips you want to give away, but reserve blocks are much harder. Except in Jan/Feb to guys like me who live in base and want to get paid to stay home. Most other months, the reserves get used, so that's not a great strategy.

At least it offers some flexibility. I was actually surprised that my buddies on reserve there were having reserve trips picked up fairly often.
