Default XOJET First Officer Pay

Are the pay rates for XOJET first officers correct on APC (first year $55K)?

Potentially less than a few regionals. That’s not as appealing in this market...

You can add about $6,000-$8,000 on top of that for soft pay. Atlantic bucks, Tailwinds, fuel savings program, etc. You will enjoy a much better quality of life here than the regionals, and plenty of our pilots get hired by the majors.

Never been to the regionals myself, but debating XOJET vs. the regionals enroute to a quality major.
Could someone elaborate in what ways QOL is better at XOJ?
Also, are folks with strictly 135 (no military or 121) moving to the majors from XOJ?
Would strongly prefer XOJ myself, but having no 121 makes me a little nervous about getting picked up by a major down the road...
Thanks!

That number is correct. Working a Flex bidding schedule will add 7.5k. Fuel savings program will add an average of 2k-6k. Atlantic bucks will add a minimum of 3k.

There is no excuse for it, it’s way below industry standard. Management makes improvements annually to pay and QOL, but it’s always reactive to industry trends, not proactive.

However, you must consider a couple things before making a decision. Current upgrade times range from 12-18 months if you have the flight time. The company does care about happy pilots on the road. We work very hard sometimes, but QOL is pretty darn good while working. Good hotels, rental car when requested, and $80/day limit on food.

Most importantly, virtually no airport standby. When you land, you can go straight to the hotel whether you’ve worked 4 or 14 hours.

There are many people moving from XO, going straight to the majors with no previous 121 experience.

Meals paid for is a huge factor. With regional level per diem if you spend all your per diem on food you still eat like cr*p. Also with paid meals you can order from wherever is convenient.

Our overnight hotels are better than the regionals. Also if you want you can get a rental car at your overnights and training which you will NEVER get at a regional.

There is no junior manning here. I mean in practicality there is because if they really need you they'll extend your rotation but they have to pay you overtime and believe me they avoid like heck doing that.

For people who live in the boonies the fact our schedule is 8/6 for those who chose is amazing. 8/6 means you only have to commute one way a week and no dealing with begging for a jumpseat home. 8/6 schedules are set a year in advance which works well for some people but not so much for others.

There's not a lot of sitting around. When you're at work you're doing work and when you're done you can leave the airport. No reserve and no sitting around no matter how junior you are.

People are going to the majors from here. People I've personally met have gone to JetBlue, Delta and a ton to Southwest. We suffer from a small sample size and everyone seems to be tunnel visioned on SWA. I wonder what would happen if more of us applied elsewhere.

Thanks for the info! Your earlier point about airport standby is pretty huge. It's one of the reasons (aside for eternal "FOdom") that I would not consider Netjets. Man, seeing those guys chained to the FBO is depressing... I wonder how XO is able to avoid this?
