NetJets Phone Interview and Information

Some still blame the hammer.
lol.
I guess I’ve never wanted to sit in front of a panel of Flight Ops personnel and explain why I allowed a jet to catch on fire because I wasn’t at the plane.
It’s not worth it.
We had a 2 hour slide yesterday and it’s pretty manageable. 90F outside. All window shades installed and lowered.
Scenario 1: no GPU. No problems and no waiting. Have the Owners wait a few minutes (offer the option to wait a few minutes). Start an engine and let the AC (Bleed and Freon) do its job. Take a :5-:10 delay for cooling and Cockpit Prep Flowage.
This happens rarely.
Also, if it’s nice out (less than 75F or so) plenty of times, we’ll have the flight plan saved and nothing else done. Wait for the Owners to show and include in the pax briefing that “we’ll be a few minutes after engine start programming the front and talking to ATC”. Set the expectations. Customers love that.
Scenario 2: GPU. Have the jet ready and pilots briefed :30 prior to the slide and extend the flight plan automatically (if at a towered field). Alternate pilots coming in every :30 to the FBO to wait for Owners and relax.
Done.
Again... it’s remote that something COULD happen but they have happened. I wouldn’t want to explain why I wasn’t monitoring the aircraft while it’s operating. All they’ll do is point at the manual where it’s required and ask why you didn’t comply.
That’s a tough line to answer.

What I would usually do is let one of us go into the FBO and the other stretch out in the cabin. Phenom Vapor Cycle kept it very cool back there. I either had a book to read or killed time on message boards while relaxing back there waiting for pax.
On a different topic, just saw a rumor that NJA's May new hire class was planned for 20, they got 11 confirmed, only 7 showed. The numbers hired vs. attrition vs. aircraft planned deliveries are not adding up.

Not surprised at all given the hiring market and NetJets place in the industry unfortunately. They are gonna have to lower mins or offer hiring bonuses.

Sure does beat my 68 hour layover in Cologne Germany last week. Of course my trip rig paid me 6 hours a day regardless, and I hopped the jumpseat to Paris and hung out with a chick I’m dating.... and then rode the train back.
But please, continue.
**Bolted after 12 years and have never looked back. Second year FO Brown pay is $20k more than 12 year Capt NJ pay. But who’s counting pennies.

We have had pilots wearing three and four stripes bidding the Phenom, usually to gain better relative seniority. If you aren't tall enough to be uncomfortable in the cockpit then it's a reasonably agreeable fleet to be in. I'm not bidding out for now because my relative seniority is worth keeping.

We’re all happy for you.
Clearly, all accounts were pretty similar... you were burned out on the post merger reality and your seniority would not allow you to remain in a Gulfstream.
You did what you needed (wanted) for you.

That was just the tip of the iceberg. I would say there is zero chance, just not long ago the company publicity stated that it would offer no pay incresses in terms of an IBB. I’m sure the morons in Bridgeway think everything’s fine and that it is the pilots loss that doesn’t want to go there. The contract becomes amendable in 5 years but is extendable to 10 lol.
