NetJets sent out an email yesterday asking us to refer pilots. Said half the new hires are coming from referrals. But they also said they won't waive any of the min requirements I'll copy below:
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Multi-Engine Land)
Current FAA First Class Medical certificate
2500 hours total flying experience with at least 500 hours at the controls of a fixed wing, multi-engine aircraft
250 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time)
A valid United States passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions
Prior 135/91 experience preferred

Remember, they seem more concerned about customer service than how good a pilot you are

Yep, I have the minimums. My customer service skills are on point. Has to be something else. I busted oral on ATP so could be that.

Despite Flylow’s continued hallucinations to the contrary, NJ is currently a dumpster fire. Not the 4 alarm conflagration at Flex mind you, but it is more than just smoldering embers.
Any pilot at NJ that recommends another pilot is wrong on two accounts:
1) They are really not doing their friend a favor by sentencing them to a minimum of 10 years in the right seat of a phone booth.
2) Nothing will change at NJ until the company has REAL trouble filling the growing number of vacancies so we’re slitting our own throats every time we help the company fill a spot.

Same. I'm now away 8-9 nights a month (four 3-day trips, and sometimes a 2-day for extra cash), and the first day of the trip usually reports in late afternoon or early evening. On the CC72, which I did to make the money work, I was gone 15-16 nights a month. It's a big improvement in quality of life, both for me and my family.

There's a rumor they may dump 32 Excels next year, those jets are way past worn out. That might explain why they're not hiring more aggressively. In another week to 10 days we'll have the latest seniority list out and see how it looks. Personally I don't see how they can dump 32 older jets next year, even with all the Latitudes coming in.

Exactly. I'm a bit surprised they're not at least doing a face to face interview with someone who has the mins. If the rumors are correct they can't afford to be that picky. There's a mid seniority F/O who stated he's already moved up 11 numbers since the mid-May list came out. And that does't count newer F/O's below him.

Don't let Flylow fool you, pilots are leaving NetJets for better opportunities. If NetJets fits your lifestyle go for it. But from the interviews that other candidates experienced, I would look to the regionals to get your experience and move on to the majors. The unprofessionalism that interviewing candidates have had to deal with is just a glimpse of what pilots have to deal with at NetJets.

The rumor may be true that NetJets is planning on becoming a boutique airline. That might be why they are being picky with candidates. However, when Bobo puts out an email last Friday and tells us that pilot staffing is adequate, but then sends another e-mail asking the pilots to recommend, "Fine Pilots", it increases my skepticism about the integrity of NetJets management. They're getting desperate for pilots.
