Fractional 8/6 Schedules
Hi Guys,
For those who work at companies (XOJet, etc.) with 8/6 schedules can you shed some light on day 1 and day 8? Are those days typically exclusively travel days? Or do they fly you from your gateway airport expected you to hit the ground running?
I worked for Citation Shares back in the day, but their schedule was 7/7 and red eyes back home after a long day (day 7) were not uncommon.
Thanks!

It all depends on the company. I work at PlaneSense and day 1 and day 8 are usually airlining to and from an airplane. I rarely work day 1 and 8. Others that are based at the company headquarters fly day 1 and 8 regularly. It all depends on where your based and the way the company is set up. Look over the threads for each company. It's talked about quite a bit.

At XOJET you get a mix of "transitions." Sometimes you will just airline into position on day 1, or possibly just airline home on day 8. That isn't always the case however. It's very common to airline on day 1 and also fly a live leg on day 1, with the same being said for day 8. Depending on the part of the country you live in, it's also not uncommon to pick up a rental car and drive into position for a trip. Pretty common for the folks in Florida, NJ/NY and CA. As with most things part 135, there is no typical day.
