Default NetJets is targeting members of the military

Once upon a time, NetJets was a military friendly employer. Those days are long past and there is a concerted effort by both Adam Johnson (CEO) and Alan Bobo (DO) to target members of the Guard and Reserve. Bobo has openly and proudly stated that active members of the reserve components present a burden (his word) to the company. He has continuously challenged crew members on their military duty. Now, they have gone as far as to terminate the employment of a pilot who exceeded the USERRA limit of five years of cumulative service. There is no mandatory requirement to terminate but there are also no guarantees that an employee will be retained. I cannot think of another example by a company that has done this. It is unthinkable that one would.

Adam Johnson and Alan Bobo never wore the uniform, ever. They cannot imagine the hardships reserve component military personnel endure to serve this country while maintaining a civilian career. It often times requires additional time away from family to include lengthy deployments to combat zones. It is a challenge that both simply disregard. Its effing disgusting.

For a multitude of reasons, I would never recommend this company to anyone. This is simply another example of the leadership style of these two people. They are actively dismantling this once proud company.

If you are military, make your voice known. Make sure others know and if a fellow military member is considering NetJets, tell them to pass.

As a veteran, this makes my blood boil. I can’t wait to see NetJets crumble to the ground. AJ and Bobo are absolute scum.

Good post.

There was a pilot who seemed to be abusing his military leave a while back, he was claiming it while not actually being on leave.

I hope that isn't the case here and that the terminated pilot has a legitimate hearing.

I personally know several reservists with Flexjet. This hasn’t been a problem with them.

I never had an issue when I was there. I also took legitimate leave and always had the required evidence if I was to be audited. Also, there are several sets of orders that are exempt from the five year limit. He might have been terminated while not having exceeded that limit.

This is true.

This particular pilot lost both his reserve career and his position at NetJets.

He resigned.

Brother the hate in you is strong, read the other responses for a more nuanced take on the situation, you are over the top negative about NJA to the point you are not a credible voice in the mix, on this and many other issues, I’m Marine infantry so you better believe I’m pro veteran, and the union is fired up and riding to the rescue, but you and I both don’t have all the details, sorry to disagree with you about Netjets crumbling but that represents about 10000 people’s livelihoods all told, you need to get a grip, cheers out.

The hate in me is strong? You don’t even know me. Focus on the countless other people that can’t stand NetJets and their practices...
