Maybe they re-hired General Dave "The Communicator."

Doubtful.

That 45 is being replayed for a new group of concert goers.

Pilots upgrading today were hired in the fall of 2005, 13 year upgrades. That hiring cycle continued until August of 2008. After the market crash of 2008 NetJets did not hire again until 2015, this is a large gap of time on the seniority list. At the current rate of 6-8 upgrades per month, this can change either way at any moment, it is going to be in the neighborhood of 50 months before every pilot hired in 2008 and before has had a chance at upgrading. That puts the end of that group, pilots hired in or before 2008, on a 13-14 year timeline for upgrade. Assuming things continue as they are today, the pilots hired after 2015 will be in their 7th or 8th year at NetJets when their seniority could be able to upgrade. That is the “dramatic” drop in upgrade time they are talking about.

This is all based on assumptions and any number of small events can change those assumptions at any time. The seniority game gives and takes at will and often without notice. I hope this helps.

It’s my understanding that when you upgrade you enter the Captain payscale at your year of service as opposed to starting at year one. Can you confirm this?

Those guys undoubtedly deserve the massive raise.

Could someone living in Knoxville fly for Netjets? How many days off a month does a new-hire average? My husband is really depressed at a particular regional- he has about 9000 hrs TT and about half that time is on 737’s- I was just wondering if Netjets would be a viable alternative or would it make him just as depressed?

It doesn’t really make up for the long wait but at least those guys have that coming. Talk about patience.

Worth mentioning though, as a corporate/Part91 PIC in a 680 I was only making $95,000 up until recently then I got a raise to $110. Sure my QOL was better even without a set schedule but I think your 10+ year FO’s were probably out earning me.

Knoxville is one of the crew bases available, so he could start there from day 1. As to whether it will make your husband happy to come here, only you and he can answer that. Plan on ten years in the right seat before upgrade when making a decision.
