The real FlexJets?
Can someone please cut through the red tape (Union this Union that) and give me the real scoop on FJ? I don't need comparisons to Netjets or XO Jet just the facts on QOL, realistic upgrade times, benny's, life on the road, crews, can I get assigned the CL300 or the Legacy? I am currently laid off and would like to stay long term. I have been a Captain for the last 7 years (91/135) and generally like the 135/Fractional world of flying. I have an interview scheduled and I am just trying to get the gist of the operation. These opinions on these web boards are all over the place. Again, I am seeking the meats and potatoes of the overall operation and whether it is a smart choice to pursue Flex. Thank you

Unfortunately yes. The company was sold and the acquiring company did not want the aircraft on the books. 6800 TT, no DUI's, clean flying record. I don't mind starting off as an FO and working my way towards the upgrade as long as it is not 10 plus years.

Not saying that will be the case in the future but, if you think that you will up grade in 6 or 7 years you might be disappointed. Just look at the numbers. Currently around 250 FO’s and maybe 25 upgrades per year if the economy keeps going good. Do the calculations yourself.

About those airports that are approved bases, are those a hard requirement as you must live near one? Or is Flexjet willing to work with applicants on a non approved airport on a case by case basis to get an airport approved for them? I don't see why not since everyone on here has made it out that Flexjet is losing pilots and they need to hire a lot to catch up. What better way then to add more bases.

Yo can ask for a base in your interview. No reason they can’t approve it.

Are they hiring Red Label pilots off the street? If so, it's another stab in the back to the pilots that have been here 15+ years.
