I can spin it like an individual you called on the phone for advice about FJ, and not show your backside. You could also be forthcoming and explain if you’re on PBS, 7/7, 8/7 or RL. I was there 11 years and find having both off let alone one ina given year as borderline fantasy.

The other poster has a history of less than truthfulness. And calling in to Super Dave for favors is a well known strategy.

PBS. Both of us are. I had Thanksgiving off, and I'm home the 23rd and will have Christmas off as well as new years. The "other guy" was speaking for himself as to what days he had off and they were accurate in the current and previous years.

And, as a guy who had thanksgiving off and who wasn’t employed there three months or so ago when we talked, I have to ask if it was because you were waiting on an IOE Captain or between Indoc and sim training? Because a guy who’s barely been employed for a month or two probably isn’t lucking into both holidays off without some extenuating circumstances.

We are short IOE Captains. Guys are getting paid to sit at home for months. Let him gloat about his schedule now and wait and see what he says in 5 years.

The non answer was all the answer I needed. As if I’m not super familiar with the realities of the job.

Been out of the country. My bad. Forgot that this forum was my life. Wow. I'm truly sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

FYI! Finished sims early Sept. Flying the line. I sat for about 5 weeks waiting. They have been adding a good amount of IP's lately eliminating the back log. We were originally told 3 months, and that there were 30 or so ahead of our class. Not all what we experienced.

I did solicit information from you about FlexJet through PM in June for the record. I also know that because of what you told me, I went in with my eyes wide open. However, after going through the process, I have yet to experience anything nearing the sort of things you point out so gracefully here. In the end that may change. So far, everything that has been told to me and the others in my class are and have come true or have been accurate. I was often finding items I wrote down you said to not be true or to be exaggerated greatly. From being a Check Airman on the 45/75, I understand why you left, I sympathize with you. Had that happened to me, I would have bounced as well. No question. To go from what you were doing, to what they wanted you to do was a bit asinine to say the least. You've found your new home and seem happy at Sprit or AA as you said you were DFW based. They pay well and I'm happy for you. I've got a couple of friends at each also based in DFW. As I also told you during our half hour phone conversation was that I had no intention of going to the Majors, 121, or anything of the sort. I enjoyed the 135 flying. It fit me and my lifestyle and I am happy doing it. I just don't understand why that is so hard for people who are in the 121 world to understand. You said yourself, people at the 121 carrier were complaining how hard it was and you were laughing all the way to the bank because they were a bunch of whinny kids and didn't know what 'hard' or work really was. I'm happy for you. I am appreciative of the input you gave me and I look for some of it to come true in the future. I look to be here a while. I enjoy the people, the culture, and everything in between so far. It is miles ahead of where I came from. Rule of thumb is to always better yourself right? I did it just as you did. Even after I left, I still encourage people at the old company. They were good to me and my family over the years. I always try to remember where I came from and also to keep looking forward. It's important in aviation. We are all one recession away from a hard time.... Big boys in the majors included.

Have a good one!

We talked in August. If you sat for 5 weeks after sims that puts you in IOE in the middle of October. There’s no way you were hired in the beginning of August, sat 5 weeks for anything and finished your sims in early Sept. And you didn’t get 25 hours in one 6 day tour on OE. Not with two travel days and a day doing phase one before moving to phase two. Ergo, you weren’t gifted Thanksgiving off by the grace of PBS. I did the math before I made my original comment.

If you enjoy the culture there then all I can say is no comment.

As for your not living on this board I could point to you littering the NJs contract thread as evidence that you’re on it quite a bit.

Nothing I said was exaggerated or false. A fifth of the pilot group, literally all who had been there for a minimum of a decade, didn’t up and leave because things were rosey. I get it. It’s a lot better than what you were doing, you’re flying far better equipment while being home based and you let a lot slide because of it. It’s something I guard against at my current employer.

I watched the teaser video about the new compensation and work rules. They say 8 day rotations with 5 days off will be the new norm. They did not say if pilots in the originally protected bases will get to keep their maximum of 6 day rotations. Also, theres a rumor that RL will be forced into 8 day minimum rotations. They should just release the video to all of us instead of hiding everything.

The teaser video I saw only said that they wanted a guarantee of at least 5 days of after 8 days on. I would suspect that’s in response to the 8-4 flustercuck that allegedly never happens for non “original 6” base members.

Making Flex a career destination flies in the face of 80% of the Pilot group being on a B scale for being transient or trapped employees. You can tell NN is lying if his lips are moving, but perhaps a change in philosophy was warranted when his BS “ trust” model met the pilot shortage that he doesn’t believe in.
