I have a copy from a friend. It looks like it is definitely a step in the right direction!

You make 100K at Delta you get 15K as a DC plus the 19K you put in. So a grand total of 34K. At NJA that is 19K pilot puts in plus 54 percent match gets you to 29.26K plus 1/3 of whatever you make on the 181/hr. So let’s say you get 100 hours a year at 181/hr that’s another 5973. So a grand total of 35K or so.

Now that looks good but the NJA is topped out. The Delta pilot makes 200K he is now at 49K in contributions while the NJA pilot is still at 35K it’s short sighted to think this is a long term solution. It’s a step in the right direction but not a major airline solution.

I of course did not include profit sharing that most majors have and the ability to shove that into 415 limits. So in reality major airline pilots shove in around 55K into retirement and only 19K is thier money. The NJA Pilot is at 35K with 26K their money.
It’s $118 not $181

Oh the preamble is the tell, this is not a financial package for the pilot group. It’s a punishment for the company to fix the scheduling practices. They will do all they can to not pay it. They will find loopholes so they will not pay out. That’s is a constant.

This is a new shade of lipstick on a pig, simple as that. That being said, it will pass and the pilot retention issues will still be present.

The problem is a step that will still be one step 7 years from now.

The vast majority of your post are on threads that are not related to your current employment status. You seriously need a hobby outside of trolling NJA threads. Sad really...

What is your end goal by coming on here? Seriously..

It's a forum man, do I really need to explain the core concept of the internet and how forums work to you?

They gotta do something...

I think it is either a legit step in the right direction, or it is a ploy to eliminate fatigue calls and pilots will see drastic scheduling changes to work around paying pilots as much as they think they're going to get based on what they fly now. I doubt it is going to be the 35k raise a year that they think it will be, in total compensation. Hopefully it is though, the pilots freaking deserve it.

After the slackers start pulling their weight and mgmt figures out how to manipulate the new system, it will be less than 10k/year opportunity. Oh, but QOL or something.
Question: when did QOL on the road trump QOL at home (pay)?? Oh that’s right, the ones complaining about QOL are the captains already getting paid a decent wage. NM

That’s the way it’s going to be BUT slackers is not what I would say. I averaged 191 hours/year of flight time for 11 years in 4 fleets. It is what it is when planes break and other things happen. Now there is an incentive to look the other way when something is broken. Just limp it along till the tour is over and make the next crew sit on it for a few days. That’s how it’s going to go...screw the other guy.
