Thread drift and outright hijacking are not exactly new phenomena but this one takes the cake....

You can now make a $100K a year to work for 5 month at NJA including my 6 weeks of paid vacation on the 7/7 schedule, I'll take that over sitting reserve at a crash pad and sweating my constant commute at a Mainline. I can't move so I Got a lot of golf to play with my kids!

A lot of negativity in this thread, classic APC. Does anyone know what current mins are for an interview once an app is submitted? I’m around 2700 TT with 1000/121 SIC. I’ve heard thats a little too light on time as the mind are 2500. I’m guessing it will be even less possible to get an interview now pay is going up?

Before I get scolded for wanting to move from 121 to NJ. Yes I get it, you guys have long days and it could always be better. I make maybe 45k now and fly an average of 18-23 legs in 4 days. When I upgrade I may make 75k but again same schedules and reserve for a few years as my base is senior for line holders. I don’t mind working hard, it’s the quality of life outside of work I want. 7/7 without having to commute on a day off to me is a dream schedule. The medical for my family is also huge, the 400 plus a month for a 6k deductable plan I have now isn’t all that great.

I am also not chasing money, I completely understand that once someone makes it to the big 3 they get paid more than any other pilot in the entire industry. That isn’t worth a commute or moving my wife and son away from family. I come from a family that even in today’s economy, 100k is way out of reach, aside from my father who makes maybe 110k and that’s after 25 years with his company. I’m in the boat that would rather make 80-120k a year and enjoy my time with family making memories, not buying new houses/cars/boats while measuring my bank account.

I had 2600 total time and 1000/121 sic when I applied and I just got hired. Qol is a the biggest reason I applied.

NetJets will interview applicants at 2500/500. They don’t use competitive minimums. Just remember to treat every phase of the interview as if you were face to face with the interview panel. Good luck

What he said. Your experience is on the lower end, but it is good time with a structured training background and operating environment. Give it a go if you want it!

Not too long ago it was rumored that having 121 experience was a red mark on an NJA application. Reasoning behind that was a sharp uptick in former 121 pilots leaving NJA to return to the 121 world.

Not sure if that still applies.

If you look at the new hire classes from this past year, prior 121 is represented well. You can draw your own conclusions off of that.

I remember dealing with guys like this the last contract. What a great deal. More time for golf. 100k plus my military pension. Yada yada. 6 weeks vacation.

This, kids, is why Nja will never have the contract this pilot group deserves. This coming from a 14 year Pic small cabin fleet.
I see what you're saying but if you're week on week off techincally you're working 26 weeks a year which is 6 months, yes?. And for each week you take off as long as they're not consecutive you can have six weeks off at 3 per paid week of vacation. Week off, paid week off, followed by your usual week off in order to maintain your current given cycle. If they're back to back you'll have 5. I've done a 7 and 7 for many many years. The math works. So you'd technically be working 5 months and 1 week officially. So he's not lying, but it's all about perception. Same as the 2 and 2 for HI guys with XO and other places. NJA offers it.

Am I missing anything?

The numbers are even better on the 52 day

156 days per year - 28 days vacation - 7 pto days = 121 work days. Right around 4 months.

You don't get 28 vacation days until you pass 10 years though.
