NetJets new Contract

I would say the ability to end the day is in your control via a fatigue, and you. An call in saying you need to pause for food, that’s really it. It’s kinda sad that a human has to tell the company to slow down just so they can eat, but that’s the way it goes. I wouldn’t say a tour is within the pilots control though, you have zero control over where you go, how many legs you fly, and when you start the day.

I am the last to defend this company for some of their stupidity but I will admit I do not always have the big picture. They may not know you have not jammed an L-8 in your mouth. A handful of people are managing a dynamic operation. If I need to be that one dude who jacks up their flow, well, happy to do it. But to sit back and let them rail you (and they will) well...that's on you.
As far as where you go...come on man, you know that's not what I meant. No flying operation gives the pilot that much control. If they gave it to me, I would do pattern work at my local airport in the jet.
How many legs....yes you do have control.
When your day starts...yes you do have control.
When your day ends...yes you do have control.
When you eat...yes you do have control.
You're not doing it right and complaining about it.

Yea but that implies that you have ultimate control, or fatigue nightly. Sure you tell them when you want to start again but you do that what, once a tour, twice at most?

Control when you eat? Yes. I often called and said I needed to go get food. But as far as when your days start, no. How many legs you fly? No. Where you go? No. Only when you fatigue do you get to manipulate SOME of those things.

Your experience at this company is/was different. I do not let myself get beat up on the road.
Do you control all those things at wherever you are now?

No, you really don’t. You get to do that ONLY when you fatigue.

The day to day I don't control at where I am now, but I do the month before when I bid. I bid for trips I want, whether I want red eyes or not, where I want to go, and what times I want to start. For the most part I get what I want which is really nice, but I am not super picky. I hate red eyes, I don't like super early morning starts, and I like avoiding east coast airports (west coast based) and for the most part I get what I want which is great.
Maybe regional schedules are like NJA, but my airline schedule is like 2 legs a day, sometimes 3. Usually 8-9 hours of duty and at at least a 14 hour overnight, typically 18-19 so I never feel that pressure to have to stop the buck. But no I don't call up each day and tell them where and when I want to go, just like NJA, but like I said I got to choose that when I bid for that month.

Sounds like things are moving along very quickly now, seems they want this done before father Warren gives up full control of BH at the end of the year, will look good for the mother ship! Walked away for 4 days then AJ called Union to come back, very interesting!
Better do something as I see lots of old guys in interviews and lots of young guys tuning up Majors applications!
