Either is nothing more than a rumor.

How about we let NJA pilots worry about NJA. No one comes to your place of business and slaps the corndog out of your hand.

if NJA was smart, they'd offer 1K bonus to each pilot for every month working (minimum of 12 days worked that month excluding training) where they did not fatigue.

The metal would move like you've never seen it before.

Even better, don’t get paid if you call in fatigued! /s

Yeah, that's what they should do. It would be brilliant! No way that would ever come back to haunt them....ever. Also, pay us extra for not writing up airplanes that are broke!

pilots are legally and morally obligated to fatigue when necessary and that would not change with any sort of "fatigue mitigation incentive pay" but it would definitely cut back on the hundreds (if not thousands) of "screw it, I'm tired of getting jerked around" fatigue calls.

How about change the 401k to a direct contribution so you can actually retire from nja.

Are you suggesting that NJ put in an incentive program to reward unsafe practices?
Isn’t this what all of the letter agencies (FAA..etc),everyone concerned with safety, and what Every pilot has been fighting for to recognize nonexistent or dangerous safety programs?
Abused or not, backtracking on these safety advances would not be a good optic and the first incident or accident would put NJA in the crosshairs for any and all lawsuits and could be easy to point to as the primary cause.

Go to an airline if you want that. NJA pilots should fight for everything they want, shoot for the stars and hopefully hit the moon, and they deserve it. But I think too many pilots at NJA are trying to change a tigers stripes. NJA will never compare to an airline across the board. NJA will never be an airline. Heck look at NJA profits compared to even the crappiest airlines. Quarterly profits at Frontier are probably higher than annual profits at NJA. The money will never be there to compensate the same as an airline.

Also, let’s not forget that 3 out of 4 pilots approved the current JCBA. The pilot group chose keeping no medical premiums over potentially way more financially beneficial things, including going after an airline standard 401k. Save 6-10k a year on medical premiums, but lose out on 20-40k a year in direct contribution 401k without putting a dime in.
