Changing airframes would be the exception, not the norm. Yes, some guys have gone Citation X--->Challenger and Challenger--->Global, but that it is not the normal progression. Usually you stay on the type you started on. The biggest chance of changing aircraft is on the addition of a new type. We have at least 2 (with rumors of a 3rd) new type additions in plans right now, so there are strong possibilities of senior/experienced guys/girls getting one of the first seats.

No, aircraft determination is weighed by staffing demands, fleet changes, and training availability. When I was hired, I initially got hired into the CX. But 2 days in, they changed my entire class to CL30 due to training availability.

I was in Iraq for the first two- the nicest thing I had was polo shirt. For the final interview, I wore a button-down shirt and tie. Got an offer the same day as my final interview.

Can someone expand on what the flex schedules look like? I've heard they are close to what the airlines have, meaning 18 on, 12 off and the days off are determined by seniority and bidding. What are the normal length of trips for flex pilots? Thanks!

You select a maximum tour length between 8-15 days. All of your tours will be less than or equal to your max. Guaranteed days off after a tour are based on the length of the tour. So on a Flex-18 schedule, you’ll have an average of 18 days/month, and it might be 10 and 8, 9 and 9, etc.

I am taking a look at moving from regional to home basing option...
At XO is there a lot of sitting reserve at an FBO? Seems from reading threads you all have long duty days... how much of that is followed by min rest?
I like the idea of a no-stress commute and outside of being a new hire, no face-to-face with company/management. IT still amazes me and hear many ACMI talk about not knowing what their chief pilots look like and only seeing the occasional station manager when landing at outstations. And you all are another level from that I would assume... no dealings with the company that can't be handled via email, phone call, or company ipad. I can't think of anything besides a random whiz quiz.
