Any information on the current pay scheme? Why is it not available to the public?

I think they just took a few steps backwards. Caution to anyone looking to go there.

How did they take a step back?

I will leave the details for someone current to chime in as but the basics of the new comp package:
less or no vacation
lower base pay
bonus opportunities if you fly your tail off to an unrealistic level to get the bonus
lower OT pay
Training on days off

basically a shell game with current salary … shifting some of their guaranteed pay into the “maybe you’ll get paid” category.

consider this just a rumor, I’m not there anymore.

3/4 of my Initial class from less than a year ago is gone and that was before the latest shenanigans.

I would say that is accurate. Also the $80 per day food expense went to a $75 per day per diem

Lost my 2 vacations for $400 more a month and if I don't hit the goal of 600 block hours a year that's my pay increase.

All,

So sorry and absolutely shocked to hear this.. How did this happen and couldn’t the Round Table do something to prevent this? Can they fix it or don’t they have the same power they had in 2019 when they released that very professional ALPA/IPA/APA/SWAPA-quality Sustainable Growth Recommendation document? And how can the Company make these cuts in the midst of the biggest hiring boom in history when pilot recruiting and retention is more important than ever?

My understanding is that the round table doesn’t have as much of a say anymore.

before I left, the round table was sidelined hard. Company, management and surprisingly even CPO were unresponsive to the roundtable. They (RT) put forth a lot of effort with no effect.

DO departed rapidly, training dept was pushed out and CPO had massive turnover. Both the CL and X fleet CP’s were hired and left the position within 8 months.

top of seniority list and bottom of seniority list seem to be bailing quickly. The top is losing everything they worked for and the bottom has nothing to gain.

Left that dumpster fire over a year ago and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Apparently the new pay scale announcement was made yesterday via an “all pilot call” but the official email has yet to be sent. In speaking with the few people I know who are still there, moral is the lowest it’s ever been and the few who were hanging around to see what the new pay scale would look like are definitely bailing now. To echo other comments, it’s hard to believe management is going backwards in a time where pilot hiring/retention is so important. Was told they were parking multiple planes due to lack of crews before the revised pay-scale so can’t imagine what this is going to do. Guess they want pilots with checkride failures and DUIs. Very sad to see what Vista has done to that place.

I learned of the details of this recently, and it validated my departure. Many saw the direction vista was going, and recognized their mentality, and values. I kind of figured they would change none of the real issues at hand, and instead throw 10k at the pilots to shut up. Never did I think they’d take 10k away, and take vacation away. So sad, it was a great company, and I was glad to have been part of it. Maybe this thread needs closed, and a vista thread needs started.
