There are pilots who live in Vancouver, Montreal, Tijuana, and even at least one who lives in Europe, but they all have to at least start their tours at a base in the continental US. They can use alternate travel to end in other places and get reimbursed for up to 90% of the price the company would have paid to get them to their regular base.

You're correct I incorrectly said SJD. It should have said SBP. (San Louis Obisbo CA)

For a NJ pilot.... This can lead to around a $2000 payment. Maybe a pic can chime in with the exact amount?
Refresh me on what airline does this if your commute falls apart on go home day? Or if you go over 14 hours of duty .... Including your commute home.

What is your definition of a commute as it applies to a pilot?
