Safe to assume the Latitude and CL350 are more consistently busy for the extra cash? Another friend on the 650 has been disappointed with utilization lately too.

To any NJ Pilots,

For those who are unfamiliar with the term, "FDP", can you please define those and how they work in to the pay structure.

Thanks in advance for the explanation to a novice. cheers,

Flight Duty Pay

Basically, it is a briber.....ah, em, “incentive” pay scheme designed to increase utility among the NJ pilot group.

In a nutshell, once your block time (flight plan time + .2 per leg) in any single tour (however many days that may be) exceeds 12.1 hours, you begin to earn $118 per hour. There is also a convoluted formula for earning addition pay for back side of the clock flying.

The goal was to throw rocks at the pelicans (lazy birds who don’t like to fly) and make pilots more “reluctant” to fatigue or call in sick thereby improving schedule stability and reducing the need for more pilots.

And it has worked. In spades.

FDP = Flight Duty Pay.

If you fly more than 12.1 hours in a tour, you will be paid an additional $118/hour. (paid out by the tenth of an hour)
If you fly between the hours of 2300-0559 (departure airport time) you get paid $50hour. (Paid out in 1/4 hour increments)
If you are on duty and not flying between 2300-0759 you get paid 50/hr. (Paid out in 1/4 hour increments)
If you are sitting at the FBO after 10 hours of duty you get paid $50/hour. (Paid out in 1/4 hour increments)

All of this is addition to your base salary.

“Easily?” Not so much.

7 months since inception, I’m barely over $5K. It beats a sharp stick in the eye but depending on your fleet, it may not be an embarrassment of riches.

Just a reality check.
I'm in the 350, on the 7/7 and have about 4 extended days. I'm around $15,000 in FDP this year through June. I do think that because of the added productivity of this program, the company will hire less pilots and the flying will increase. Just a guess, though.

Flight & Duty Pay Program: All pilots, regardless of seat, fleet, schedule, or seniority are paid $118 per block flight hour after exceeding 12.1 block hours in a single tour. The total FDPP per tour will be split where 67% goes directly into the pilots pay check and the other 33% will go directyly into the pilot's 401(k)

Night Flight Pay: $50 per hour for flights between 2300LT and 0559LT based on point of departure. This can compound with $118 premium pay.

Night Duty Pay: $50 per hour for pilot availability on back side of the clock between 2300LT and 0759LT. Does not compound with Night Flight Pay

End-of-Duty Day Pay: $50 per hour for continued duty between 10 and 12 hours.

Default schedule is 7/7 and is available to any pilot after the completion of IOE.

Schedule bidding takes place every 4 months with a flush bid in October. Crew choice schedules idicates how many total working days there will be in a single trimester (i.e. 72-day schedule will be 72 total working days over a single 4 month period. See monthly averages below.)

On the crew choice schedules, the company may borrow two additional days in a single month from the next month during a trimester but must give two additional days off in the following month (i.e. On the 72-day schedule, you normally work 18 days per month during a trimester. The company is allowed to have you work 20 days in a single month but the following month, you will only work 16 days.)

Crew choice schedules:

52-day (avg 13 days per month)
60-day (avg 15 days per month)
72-day (avg 18 days per month)
76-day (avg 19 days per month)
Holiday pay is 150% daily over-ride (250% for the day, ten days designated by the union per year)

Late return to your base ("After Midnight") is an override of 2 days at the extended day rate (equivalent to 300% your daily rate and no duty other than travel required).

Pilot overtime rate is paid for all legal duty after 12 hours on duty.

If pilot is scheduled show time is between 2200LT and 0359LT, pilot duty will be limited to 10 hours.

It has worked very well and now with the "Money ring" on the waypoint app you can see exactly how much "overtime" you have earned after every leg, most brilliant contract ever for management but also for pilots. If I am away from family for 7 days I want to work and make extra $$$. I want the person who get to solid white ring ($8000 extra on a tour) to post it!

After 10 years you have a total of 28 vacation days. If the current pto system stays unchanged after year one you have access to 12 pto days. So on the 7n7 you are working 140 days. Or 11.66 days per month if you take all your vacation and use all your PTO days. 9.66 per month on the cc52
