NetJets Commuting Question
Hello,
I currently live in the US but have a girlfriend in Canada and spend a decent amount of time up there. Is commuting/positive space an option from a major Canadian airport? Anyone else heard of international commuters? Are there any flight benefits included with a job at NetJets? Do you need to list a major US airport as your base to be positive spaced out of?
Also, what are current upgrade times looking like at NetJets? In the past I've heard of 10+ years.
Thanks for the help

I know of at least one employee that commutes Toronto to Boston but they buy their own tickets for start of trip. On last day they usually do alternate travel back to Toronto which means the company covers up to 90 percent of the cost of the ticket that would have gotten you back to base. It can be complicated but people make it work.

There is at least one pilot who buys his own tickets to his US base from his home in Europe. I've heard Allegiant, Atlas, Polar, and Kalitta allow us in their jumpseats, but I have no verification that they still do or can be relied on to continue to do so since there are no reciprocal agreements with anyone. I also know of pilots who drive from their homes in Canada to their US bases. I believe they claim US residency to avoid any further taxation from the Canadian government.

An airline to and from your airplane(s) for the tour is on the company time and nickel, not yours. You pretty much have to START a tour from your "base" although there is a way to go elsewhere at the end of your tour at reduced expense to you.

Indeed. Once upon a time, that is how they referred to your home airport.
Now, there is an amalgamation of "HBA - Home Based Airport" and "Crew Base" which is further subdivided into "Green" bases and "Waiver" bases....you need a bloody scorecard to keep it all straight.
