You can only judge it by getting an insight on how green the grass really is. Which ever turns out to be greener in your eyes is the better option. Im looking now bc in about 5 years ill be at AA with flow...rn is perfect time to decide. My career can fork and go to NJ or go the other way to majors...whichever i choose itll become a career not a stepping stone.
Do what’s best for your family first. Pay and QOL second. Benefits 3rd. Good luck with your decision. I think the answer your looking for won’t come from this forum, but who lays next to you at night.

Is it really worth 300K and a 777 type rating if your families unhappy? Is it really worth Hotel and Airline miles if your families not happy?

An AA guy that wants a stretch of time off only has to bid that way. Any of them can build or trade into a 7/7 type schedule if that’s what they choose to do. And they can change it up every month. There is no contest between an airline pilot’s scheduling flexibility and being locked into a 7/7.

I don’t think NJA is a crummy job. If you live somewhere that would require a crappy airline commute - I get it. Or maybe you’re too close to 65 to enjoy seniority at an airline. But beyond that, it doesn’t make sense to go over to NJA unless the alternative is being a regional lifer.

Don’t go to NJA so you can save like 4K on paying health insurance and getting 500 bucks worth of hotel points.

I work at NetJets. It works well for my personal situation. That said, if I could have been hired by the majors before I came here I would most likely be in an even better situation- choices I've made adapting to when I was truly stuck when the majors weren't hiring have shaped my decision now not to look elsewhere. There are lots of good things to be said for NetJets, but overall pay, retirement savings, and quality of life are more likely to be significantly better at the majors for someone younger that can make the choice now. You can make pretty good money now at NetJets, but you will forever work hard to get it. The airlines will work you hard when junior, but you will get the seniority to have better choices for pay vs quality of life than what you will have at NetJets. Suffer now or suffer for your whole career in comparison. You have the golden ticket, or at least a ticket to the show. Don't waste it and kick your own behind for the rest of your career.

I am going to guess a large family that doesn't have perfect health might disagree with that assessment.

I'd have to guess that the extra pay at the major airlines would make up for the insurance difference. Maybe not the first year, but quite handily by year 2 or 3.

That has nothing to do with anything. You still pay deductibles at NJA. You just don’t pay a monthly premium. Medical bills are NOT 100% covered at NJA.
