Fatigue 1 time a trip at Alaska and see what happens.
I think you fatigued for a variety of reasons, chiefly that our type of flying wasn’t your cup of tea.
Your personality and Type A need for control were diametrically opposed to NetJets operational reality.
It’s good for us all you decided to apply elsewhere. The scheduling irregularity that your fatigues caused other crews that week weren’t worth you being miserable here.
I’m sure the crews that did their flying PLUS yours are happier now too.
I certainly am.
Post IBI is extremely manageable and the NetJets you remember just isn’t there anymore.
You’re trying to describe and fight a phantom memory.

I have fatigued, I said I have. And guess what? When I am fatigued I will fatigue again, without issue, without loss of pay and without punishment. Just like every other airline. NJA is nothing special here.

He just said he fatigued. And all of my airline buddies have fatigued/can fatigue all they want. My friend at Frontier that had a “almost red eye route” that wasn’t by one min, and a short turn was told by the union to make sure he fatigues so the company would change the route schedule to make it less of a QOL issue. The airlines try and build the flight routes in ways to PREVENT work related fatigue. Netjets is way behind in that aspect.
You now get the Netjets call after a few close together, no matter what. Our schedules are much more stable and fatigued status is much more manageable making it less common place, but the company has a right to call and ask any pilot here if they want too. They are even firing new hires that fatigue to much.

Reserve at a major is as good as you make it. At my present gig I actually bid it sometimes as it usually pays more, has same amount of days off and I can hold weekends off doing it. I get 3-4 days a month not getting used and since the apps take the guess work out of when you are being used I go about my day normally, though I do have a bag in my trunk for the occasional last minute call.
Could it be better? Yes it could but overall it’s a good way to make a living.
Biggest difference with NJA and reserve life is at NJA you don’t get a RAP, you can not pick AM or PM reserve. So you may get the 0315 wake up day one for a 0615 flight, one needs to drive to the airport, and not get home till after 2200 on the last day. Yes at NJA you get some coin for that but it hurts to do it over and over again. Those are not options at a major reserve line. You pretty much stay morning/evening availability. Sure they can move it around but they usually avoid it as it leads to fatigue calls. So day one I have to be ready for work at 1200. I know I’ll be home in 3 days but since it’s not a piece meal trip it is usually a trip someone is sick for and this has a set schedule. Get assigned or self assign and away you go.
Even if you hold a line once you check in you are on reserve as they can reassign you whenever.

They’re working on that.

Zero control, you have forgotten what control is.
I worked there, you haven't worked at ANY 121 carrier in going on two decades. My basis to compare NJA and 121 holds way more weight than you do.

I’ve seen this in politics.
Regarding your time here... I wouldn’t say you “worked” very hard. Lots of fatigue and AOG is what it sounded like from your numerous posts on the Facebook and Insta.
“Oh look. Broke again”.
NJA just wasn’t a good fit for you. It’s ok. We’re all in better placed for each other now.

I bet not. “Be where you are supposed to be when your supposed to be there”
Your on duty, they expect you to be at the plane/airport. Anything other you Technically need to get permission.
Call your CP and ask, or the union and talk to the guys that have had to defend guys that didn’t do what they are supposed to do.

Technically speaking, of course.
I read the arbitrations and the ones that “make the papers” do not involve a little mile trip to get a cup of coffee and an Egg Bite. They often involve habitual behavior offenders who never really grasped the business that were in or how to successfully coexist as part of a team.
There’s always much more to the story.
But technically speaking, before I go to a sit down food venue of any sort and spend “time” there, I would send a GM in to communicate what we’re doing with the rest of the team.

My flights leave on time 100% of the time unless there’s ATC issues or bad FBO service.
Technically speaking, of course.

There you go, admitting the facts finally. Netjets has a leash on us when we are on duty. Period. Anything can happen. Your NOT done when you do the last briefed flight, your not good to go get coffees even down the road unless your asking for permission. This doesn’t bother me as I know how to make sure the job gets done, safely, but the rules are there so they can use you and to prevent guys from doing something dumb like driving to grandmas house on the other side of town and have an ASAP have way through sweet potato pie. It takes the right kind of person to do this job and accept that the rules are because pilots aren’t adults and live within the constant reserve status.
