Whatever you gotta tell yourself to sleep at night slugger, have at it. The outlook at Alaska is what it is, but it looks a helluva lot better than if I would have stayed for my personal situation . I’m not even that big of a fan of Alaska and I’m way happier where I am now. And I less take shots of my former employer, as much as I take shots at you for your little made up reality. Luckily we all know differently. You aren’t convincing a single former NJA employee that is now happy are their current employer, that they regret that decision. You want them to regret that decision because you’re butthurt at the way your career turned out. I get it dude, nobody wants to work 24 days a month to make up for their past and you can’t possibly stand looking at others with long careers ahead of them. But hey that’s the hand you were dealt, get over it.
But still you can’t answer the original question.
You deflect and attack.
It definitely means you thought the grass was greener but now... there’s maybe a few of those Kermit the Frog moments where you catch yourself looking out the rainy window.
As for me, I really enjoy what I do and have for some time. I’ve enjoyed a wonderful and rewarding career so far (a mix of every flying out there except military) and I’m looking forward to the remainder. You can attack that feeling of satisfaction all you like but it’s a reflection of the small man in the window.
The personal emptiness your comments reflect is sad really. It shows the value you place in things and status, not people. What a lonely and empty life. NetJets definitely traded up when you resigned.

The personal stuff on retractable is pretty dead on, but the pay at NJA is more complicated than you are allowing for. I know captains with over 40K in overtime pay- not FDP flight hours. Selling back sick days can also add up to 13K+ for a PIC. There truly is quite good money to be made at NetJets now, but it is earned with a lot more work days and effort than the airlines.

As much as I hate to say it I can understand why scheduling uses "A-Teamers" on long Intl trips. When you've got a large cabin jet doing a trip from the other side of the world recovery options are very limited if they call in fatigued or ground the plane over a minor mx issue. Domestic trips can be recovered in a little over an hour usually but the long haul stuff may take the better part of a day. Not saying I approve of this but I understand it.

It is still really not fairly distributed to those pilots they know they can rely on. The vast majority of pilots in the fleet have a proven track record and still get skipped over. There have been A Teamers that did screw up big trips but still get way more than their fair share of high paying trips. There are some guys who are diamond or platinum on all the airlines from their dozing for dollars. Those guys are getting over $160 an hour OT and some are well over 200 hours of OT a year. It is usually a captain that gets to be the augmented guy who airlines in or out when they could use 2 captains together for the rest of the trip and airline in or out the single SIC who is getting around half the OT pay per hour and save the company often over $1000 in OT pay. There isn't really anything fair about the A Team and most of the time there are plenty of others who aren't on a list of pilots who would be a known questionable choice to send on a vital trip. I haven't seen or heard anybody admitting to paying off schedulers, but it has been proven in the past and I wouldn't bet that it isn't still going on.

Once upon a time, I had a very senior PIC say to me and the FA "I need $50 from everybody." I asked "what for?" He said "to get a nice gift for H*****r for giving us this great trip." I looked at him for moment, told him he was out of his mind, and went back to the cockpit.
First off, it wasn't that great a trip. Second, I believed then, as now, that any scheduler that accepts a gift from a pilot and any pilot that offers a gift to a scheduler should be fired on the spot. I wish I could have called the BK Ethics Hotline on that occasion but it didn't exist yet.
And that is why I was forever banished from the Bubba Club.

It's been that way for more than 20 years. And it is very real.

Here’s some depressing music to go with your rendition of “why I’m not liked”.

The Bubba Club never should have existed and has been dead for many years now since NJI was merged to us. You’ll get the full experience when you displace to Longitude.
Love you man but come on... “I’m always the victim”.

That is the biggest lie you have told in this thread. I see the bubba club with my own eyes. I've had multiple awesome trips scheduled only to watch my name drop off at the last minute. Each one had at least one long international airline magically disappear from me and according to Flightaware the trips still went as planned. Anyone getting 60+ or whatever extended days a year while others who want them can't get them is in the bubba club also, just a different level.

I wouldn’t know.
My brief is put in front of me and I go fly assuming I can do so safely.
Sounds like you’re postulating a lot of excuses to me. I don’t get a lot of “good trips”. My passport rarely gets used. If I’M “A Team”, why is that?
I guess scheduling has its reasons... and that’s fine. I don’t go running around the inter web screaming about A Team controversy and conspiracy. I fly my schedule if I can.
