Fractionals may be hit by airline cuts
#11
I am at Atlas, and we are experiencing this same problem, so far mostly overseas. We are working to figure out what to do overseas, and what to do domestically with the schedule cutbacks and/or domestic travel shutdown...

Flexjet has announced today that they will be transferring pilots to flight assignments utilizing company aircraft. 7 hub locations and longer tour options (10 or 15 days) will allow this to be financially possible. This will allow operations to continue regardless of airline travel limiting or stopping completely in the coming weeks.

Does this mean you’re down to seven bases or am I reading that wrong?
Ten to fifteen days is damn near unmanageable. Good luck with that.

As far as 10-15 days being "unmanageable", it's only temporary and for a short period. Beats the hell out of being furloughed. For those like myself that spent months away from home on deployments during military days, this is a walk in the park. Still blows my mind that some think that's too much ask when the alternative is being out on the street without a job.

Don't worry, the company will figure it out. Not every hotel chain is shutting down.

Yes, and they cover the driving expenses for your own vehicle or rental car for those that go that route.

This is the first step. I bet more will come as this is going to get worse. I wonder if they will do layoffs by seniority or like how XO Jet did and get rid of higher paying pilots or ones they don't like? Sure sucks not having an union.

Would you rather loose your job because you can't adapt to tough times? It's not just because you fly a jet that you can find a job next day. Wake up.
