It isn't so easy to get an organized response without the union. Tell me how the non unionized pilot groups are doing getting a constant stream of volunteers to do those things already described that are being done by the union at NetJets.

I'm not arguing that it couldn't be done, but it is pretty unlikely.

At NetJets the Union and Company are working together to get thru this. We're getting daily, often multiple daily, emails from company and union as to what's going on. They're contingency planning for major loss of airline service by putting together a hub and spoke system based on 30 domiciles that have the largest number of pilots. They're also working on a 14/14 schedule option to reduce airlining. If this happens scheduling will make sure (we hope) that crews get a day off in the middle somewhere. If the FAA can just keep the NAS up and the hotels/caterers don't all shut down we can get thru this.

Sidenote, a friend of ours who manages a Bojangles said they're doing over $4500/day just with the drive thru. Normal day was $5-6K so down some but not catastrophic.

Flexjet has already done this. Operating own airplanes to shuttle crews. Allowed to expense food delivery for every meal.

Choice of 4 schedules for next 60 days :

1) 10 on / 10 off schedule = 30 work days
2) 15 on / 15 off schedule = 30 work days
3) 10 on /10 off schedule with PTO = 20 work days, with 10 PTO
4) 30 PTO

You are allowed to “owe” PTO if you haven’t accrued it

A 14/14 option is not to reduce airline travel, but to accommodate those who feel they need to quarantine when they get home.
