Do you guys think that these postponements/cancellations are due to simple social distancing at this point or something more substantial- such as as predicted drop in demand in corporate flying?

Drop in demand- though social distancing is causing the drop in demand. Once the virus is under control and the economy is somewhat reasonable, there should be a resume of hiring when flying normalizes.

The big brains out there are saying that once this virus passes the economy is going to rebound very quickly, so I think most operators including the majors and fractional are wanting to at least weather the storm and keep people on property, majors are all paying guys to stay home but not furloughing?

New LOA at NetJets. Up to 1000 pilots can take voluntary unpaid LOAs from 1 month to 12 months. Totally voluntary and the company can bring them back with 2 weeks notice if needed.

Also, you keep free medical benefits while on LOA. NetJets is checking interest in a 14 on 14 off schedule option to reduce airline travel. Pay same as 7/7. No decision yet, still gauging interest.

Seems to me the high risk ppl should be first to take it. Something tells me most of them won’t.

Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. But right now, the competitor that is telling his employees NJA is furloughing is just plain making stuff up. ... Or maybe NJA management called him up just to see if it was OK with him if they did? 🤔.... 🤪 NAAAH
