Fleet consolidation has its advantages, but giving the clients what they want is also beneficial for a company. The XLS may not be the sexiest offering, but there's a reason we still operate them.

Anyone have any new info on interviews and hiring? I’ll even take unsubstantiated rumors as I stare down the barrel of furlough in October.

Haven't heard anything on interviews yet. But our flight demand is around 75% of last year's levels and steadily increasing.

I recently had one of the recruiters reach out to check in on me again; no news, but I have to assume that if they’re trying to keep people interested, the hiring process will start again... soon? Hopefully?

I get the same email. I think it’s automated monthly.

just be prepared to answer the question, “if you’re recalled from furlough, are you going to go back?”

I started this process well before COVID-19. I had an invite to the in person interview and sim ride April 15. Then it all went bad. I wanted to leave the airlines then. I definitely would like to leave now and make netjets my “forever” home.

I will have an answer ready.

I was furloughed from USAirways in 2003, flowed down to a regional then got on at NetJets in 2005. Was recalled in 2007 and there was no way in hell I was going back. Loved the different kind of flying we did, the challenging airports and interesting pax we flew.

UPS and FedEx both will require written proof of resignation from the airline you are furloughed from before day 1 of Indoc. NJA could easily do the same. The real scary part is if you do that, and regret the decision, which a measurable percentage will. Lots will likely love the change though.

NJA didn’t like hiring airline pilots before because most airline pilots, even from regionals, left to the first major that called. I would imagine the barrier for entry into NJA as an airline pilot will be even harder now. Also, NJA isn’t in a position to hire a bunch of pilots anyway so it might be moot.

I think there will be some this time around who do the same, especially at places that have home basing and treat you well.
