Interesting perspective. A client would be a pretty big jerk to feel that way and project that feeling onto others. Do you treat your uBer drivers like that? Waiter/waitress? I personally find it pathetic to watch people try and justify treating others like garbage because it makes them feel elite. Even weirder to watch pilots defend the position. When these ultra-rich elites want pilotless airplanes because they don't want to be seen near "the help" are you going to be ok finding another profession?
That whole treat the janitor with as much respect as the CEO is big in my book, that janitor is just as human as the CEO and we aren’t any better because we can fly planes.
Anyway, my apologies for the rant.

Some of the rudest people to servers/waiters are pilots. I’ve had to bite my lip several times in different situations where I’m out to eat with other pilots and they treat service workers like garbage. It’s embarrassing and I automatically lose respect for that person. One time I spoke up and called the guy out in front of our group, probably shouldn’t have done that but I was pretty steamed by his interaction with the server.

Sounds like you need to pick better friends to eat out in public with.
I eat in public with pilots over 15 days a month and haven’t encountered the stories you have. The company with believe in treating others with respect. That’s a pretty large brush stroke to say all pilots act like idiots in public, treat servers with zero respect, and are all slobbed out at an FBO scratching our genitalia.
The pilots I hang out with are in a different crowd than yours.

Sorry for the confusion. My reply was to a couple of quotes below and it didn’t format correctly. Here’s the nut scratcher reference:

Yeah. No kidding. I will gladly trade anyone for my E175 FO gig. I have been waiting for my final interview with netjets since March. I will leave a little bag of cheezits in the storage cubby next to my seat. No charge.
You have to take my salary though. My commute, my healthcare and healthcare deduction and my 4% 401K match. And you also have to take 250 pilots sitting above you waiting for upgrade with zero flow going on.
The 175 is a cool airplane though. Any takers?

Careful what you wish for. I don't even think my NJA new hire class in 2015 has 200 pilots below them. Rumor is the new TA is going to further reduce staffing exactly like I predicted they wanted to. So upgrades will go way and hiring will be minimal at best. Hopefully, the airlines recover so more people leave NJA, and that opens up a spot for you, since that's where you want to be.

I don't think NJA is a career as an FO, just like I don't think regionals are a career. Not to further burst your bubble but with the rumored staffing changes, NJA might suddenly find themselves a couple hundred pilots fat, and that would push off hiring for a couple of years without expanding the fleet.
