Speaking of the relevant information I do not have, was I off on the continued shrinking of the pilot group? I'll wait...
Everyone reading this thread or any NJ thread should think long and hard about this statement when considering if MinRest is someone worth listening to or not. Obviously people would rather be employed by NJ than furloughed. That statement is ludicrous. Even if what MinRest says is actually true about the former employees that are on APC howling about how bad it was, do they sound like reasonable people?

MinRest is Jetlife (remember him?). I'm surprised the NJ alum hasn't called this out yet.

Whatever they build for the owners, I am sure the pilots will be shoved in a closet on the opposite end of the building.
You have no business being in the passenger lobby. They are not your friends nor do they ask for your company.
You are their pilots, nothing more...........

You see Airline Pilots hanging out in the first class lounge?? Nope......

Are you on drugs dude? Seriously, what's your motivation to spread BS like that? If you're not careful, your AME may be looking into your mental stability soon..............

I don't know the circumstances of when he was told not to be there, but there are times when pilots need to be in the passenger lobbies. It is very possible to have a question that needs to be answered by the CSRs in the lobby and while CMH and the other NetJets branded FBOs always bring the passengers out to us, one pilot is supposed to be in the lobby to greet the passengers almost everywhere else. I was personally yelled at by the former long time CSR at the NetJets FBO in PBI when I went into the lobby. I ignored her and continued on to the front desk while getting more and more heat from this former CSR. I bit my tongue and then calmly asked the lady at the front desk for the keys to my rental car that are only available from her at the front desk. The CSR shut up and left me alone after that, but didn't apologize for her Nazi behavior. I was rather pleased when she was shown the front door herself.

That’s true of course.....if you need to conduct business in the pax lounge of course you need to have access to it.
But there are many pilots who think that it’s a shared space and are totally comfortable hanging out on the passengers couch with their feet on the table......

And I agree, the CSR should mind their own business.....don’t think that they should be policing the lobby.......

I agree with that. I have never felt comfortable hanging out in the passenger area. I may swoop in briefly when necessary (and I consider getting a good cup of coffee necessary when the pilot lounge has an inferior choice), but I depart just as quickly and don't stop to chill or drink my coffee there.

I remember her, and remember hearing about her being shown the door. I had a laser event on final coming into PBI one night. we reported it and oddly enough the Sheriffs chopper was up and like a min away and was put on scene immediately. They didn't find the person but a unit had come by, by the time we had offloaded pax and buttoned the plane up for the night. We walked into the lobby and they were waiting for us. She interrupted two law enforcement officers to berate me while we were talking about the circumstances. I was so mortified by her behavior I emailed the CP about it. Nothing like having a laser beamed right into your eyes at the end of a 12+ hour day, only to have a desk jockey try to boss you around. CMH and HPN aren't as bad, and some of the facilities are easier to avoid the passenger lobby and common areas. For some reason though, I found myself having to traverse the common areas in PBI and VNY for various reasons or tasks. But I did have a CSR in CMH and PBI tell me I can't be in there. Funny thing is, in CMH I was coming down the stairs from the cafeteria, back into the FBO area lol. It is impossible to go undetected to the crew lounge there unless you want to get dumped on in bad weather by going around outside. I would rather traumatize a passenger with my presence for a split second, than be soaked the rest of the day.

When the branded FBOs first opened it was as you say. Pilots (in a rude manner) were told not to be in the owner lounge. That culture has changed over the last few years. Believe it or not I walked through the front doors at VNY last tour and nobody said anything or yelled at me. Most of us understand where to be and when we should be there.

Things change. Maybe that is why most people only speak about things they are currently involved in as opposed to things they have not been involved in for years or telling us what a friend of a friend says.
